Farm to Table Styled Wedding at Working Over Thyme

As many of you may already know, I am not merely a photographer, but also a farmer. A "wake up at 5 a.m., dirt-under-my-fingernails, garden-hat-wearing" organic vegetable and flower farmer. From as far back as I can recall, the earth has been what has inspired me. The sights, the sounds, the smells, the natural balance and sometimes complete and utter disorder requesting you to let go and let nature do her thing,. And the green - all of the green. My mother is a painter. One of the first lessons she taught me as an artist was to never look at nature and see green. But to see every shade of green that exists as its own. It is the attention to detail, this appreciation of all that surrounds us that led me to photography. And it is this commitment to daily engaging with my environment and noticing even the smallest inflections in mama nature's tone - the fog on the field, the dew on the plants, the sunlight floating through the trees with the breeze - that continues to inspire me. And that is what inspired this shoot.

So you know a little about the philosphy we employ at Working Over Thyme Farm, we believe that locally and organically grown food is better for us (more nutricious AND delcious) as well as for the environment (less chemicals and carbon footprint). It was with these tenets and the desire to design a styled wedding working with nature and her beauty that these photos came about. Working with Sarah at Pollyanna Events, Jennifer at Blushing Blooms Floral Design, and Teeny at Teeny Pies - we created a setup that incorporated season vegetables and flowers from the farm into the florals, the party favors, and all around ambiance.
